Ogbomoso- Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Wednesday installed High Chief Kasali Oladipo Yusuf as the Abese of Ogbomosoland.

Makinde, who was represented by Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola, the Oyo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters officially presented the instrument of office to Yusuf and three Chiefs in Ogbomosoland on Wednesday.

Makinde applauded the Soun of Ogbomosoland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye (Orumogege III) for the giant stride being taken to develop Ogbomosoland.
The governor also commended Soun for the way he is consulting wide with the relevant stakeholders on how to attract big projects to Ogbomosoland.

Makinde urged the three Chiefs to see their new roles as a privilege to serve the people and not to oppress others.

According to him, the new chiefs should use the role to promote unity and see that harmony is maintained among their other contestants

He finally advised them to do Oyo State proud and contribute in making Ogbomosoland great.

In his welcoming remarks, the Executive Chairman Ogbomoso North Local Government, Hon. Akanji Kabir Ayoade enjoined the new chiefs to appreciate the good gesture of Executive Governor of the State by contributing to the peace and development of Ogbomosoland in particular and Oyo State in general.

Shadanpamareporters report that Oyo State Government presented the staff of office to High Chief Kasali Oladipo Yusuf, the Abese of Ogbomosoland as well as the Alaasa of Ogbomosoland, High Chief Oyelola Oyedele and Baale of Yaku, Chief Ojewumi Sunday Oyeniyi.

The New Abese of Ogbomosoland on the 27th of October, 1989, was enlisted into the Nigerian Prisons Service as a Deputy Superintendent.

He worked in various capacities across Nigeria such as in Kano state, Ile-Ife in Osun state, Ado-Ekiti, Ilorin in Kwara state, Daura in Katsina state and Kuje Abuja, FCT.
In 2006, he was appointed to the Office of the Controller General of Prisons as Special Assistant and Principal Staff Officer (PSO) to the Controller General of Prisons, until 2012 when he was posted to the FCT command as the Controller in Charge.

In 2014, he was redeployed to Anambra state until 2015 when he was deployed to take charge of Deradicalization Programme under the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).

In 2016, he was redeployed to Oyo state command as in-charge of the state; and in 2018, he was posted to Zone F in Ibadan as Assistant Controller General of Prisons (covering Oyo, Ondo, Osun and Ekiti States).

In 2019, he was confirmed and moved to Headquarters as Acting Deputy Controller-General before he eventually disengaged from Federal Government Service as Acting Deputy Controller General in 2021.

Dignitaries at the occasion included AIG (rtd) Alhaji Shehu Babalola, President Ogbomoso Progressive Committee of Friends (OPCF), Mr. John Alabi, the CEO of John Alabi Ventures, and Alhaji Rashid Ayinla, the Chairman/CEO of Ragaray Hotels, Ogbomoso.

Others included the Controller General of Nigerian Correctional Services, Alhaji Haliru Nababa represented by the Zonal Co-ordinator Zone F, Mrs Abimbola Ogunyemi among others from and outside the state.
