Gov. Makinde Sacks Auxiliary, Dissolves Park Management C’ttee
Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has removed Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi aka Auxiliary as the Chairman of the Oyo State Management Committee.
The Chief of Staff to the governor, Segun Ogunwuyi announced this in a statement in Ibadan on Monday .
According to Ogunwuyi, Makinde also approved immediate dissolution of the Disciplinary Committee of the Park Management System (PMS) led by Auxiliary.
The dissolution is with immediate effect,” Ogunwuyi said.
“I have the directive of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde to inform you of the dissolution of the Disciplinary Committee, Park Management System with immediate effect from today, Monday, 29th May, 2023,” the statement said.
Makinde had on Monday, February 17, 2020 inaugurated park managers for the 33 local governments in the state.
The establishment of the committee came with two disciplinary committees to intervene whenever conflicts arise with the naming of a factional NURTW leader in the state, Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi as chairman of the disciplinary committee.
The then Commissioner for Works and Transport, Professor Adeniyi Afonja had while justifying the establishment of the committee said it would bring sanity to the management of motor parks.
He also said the managers would be co-ordinated by a Consultant to ensure compliance with the terms of reference, while the disciplinary committees would intervene where there are issues between the state government and park managers.
