We made significant progress in 2024- Alimosho General Hospital MD

The Medical Director of Alimosho General Hospital, Igando, Dr Ayodapo Soyinka, says the hospital made significant progress in 2024, noting that plans are in place to ensure a good outlook in 2025.

Soyinka made this known on Thursday at a 2024 End-of-Year party organised by the hospital to appreciate and reward outstanding staff in the outgone year.

According to him, the hospital’s rating has gone up due to some upgrades that the hospital embarked on to further ensure that patients got unhindered access to care.

He noted that the hospital increased its casualty unit from an eight-bed space to 34 beds.

It set up a functional intensive care unit and upgraded from manual records to electronic medical records among others.

He said:” Despite all the challenges in 2024, it was a year of progress for the hospital and this was made possible by the staff, by their resilience and contribution to the growth of the hospital.

“As a hospital, our rating has gone up both in Lagos state and in the entire country; we now have a large number of people who want to do their internship in this hospital.

“We started our e-inventory for store management in 2024 and it is the first of its kind in all the general hospitals in Lagos.

“I want us all to continue to work together as a team to make this hospital the best general hospital in the state,” he said

He added that the hospital had already embarked on some projects that would project a good outlook for the facility in 2025.

Soyinka said: “Preparation is already on to commence mortuary services.

“We have started construction and we are also constructing an oxygen plant to generate oxygen within this hospital and also sell to others.

“One of our major targets this year is to put the whole hospital on solar power to reduce cost, so this year has a good outlook and we believe that collectively, we will make it happen”.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that some members of staff were rewarded for their performance in 2024, while those who retired were also honoured and presented with gifts for their contribution to the hospital.
