Video: INEC reacts to alleged attack on Yakubu’s property
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has debunked viral video making the round on the social media where some youths were destroying and attacking a property allegedly owned by its Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.
The Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Mr Rotimi Oyekanmi, in a statement said that the reported video and narrative was an handwork of mischief makers to spew the narratives that the purported property belongs to Yakubu
Oyekanmi urged the masses to disregard such reports that the property belonged to Mahmood Yakubu, stressing that the chairman did not own any property in Bauchi or anywhere else around the world.
“The INEC Chairman does not own the property in question in either Bauchi or anywhere else around the world.
“This narrative is indeed the latest in the series of desperate smear campaign efforts by mischief makers. The public should disregard it,” Oyekanmi said.
It would be recalled that a video had created mixed reactions where some youths reportedly broke into a property and began vandalisation of a property presumed to be owned by Yakubu.
