Odu’a Investment inaugurates Lagos liaison office to drive growth

Lagos, July 31, 2024 (NAN) Odu’a Investment Company Ltd. (OICL) has inaugurated its Lagos Liaison office, as part of a strategic effort to accelerate growth and expand its footprint.

In his keynote address, Chief Bimbo Ashiru, Chairman of OICL, at the opening of the new Lagos liaison office on Wednesday, said that it would act as a communication bridge between the holding company and the investment community.

He highlighted that two of OICL’s new subsidiaries, South West Agribusiness Company (SWAgCo) and South West Innovation and Tech Company (SWIT), would have offices within the facility.

Ashiru stated that the newly inaugurated office was more than a mere physical space, saying, “it is a strategic asset aimed at facilitating access to the business community, enhancing communication, and fostering international relationships”.

He noted that the office would help the company navigate the global business landscape with finesse as it strives to become a world-class conglomerate.

“We are commissioning our tastefully well-furnished offices and board room, which will act as an information hub for gathering market intelligence, conducting research, and facilitating collaboration between OICL and potential business partners.

“The facilities include an executive office, a modern board room with teleconference equipment, a lounge, meeting rooms, and kitchenettes,” Ashiru said.

Mr Abdulrahman Yinusa, Group Managing Director of OICL, described the opening of the Lagos liaison office as a testament to the company’s resilience, innovation, and commitment to excellence.

He commended the exceptional dedication and hard work of the OICL Board and Management team, whose tireless efforts and innovative ideas made the project a reality.

Yinusa explained that the liaison office would house the SWAgCo and SWIT subsidiaries as neighbouring offices, facilitating cross-border interactions, fostering international relationships, and expanding OICL’s frontier.

Dr Seye Oyeleye, Director-General of the Development Agenda For Western Nigeria, delivered a goodwill message, stating that the opening of the liaison office represents more than just the expansion of a business entity.

He noted that it continues a grand vision that had shaped the social, political, and economic aspirations of Southwest Nigeria.

“Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s social democratic philosophy sought to harness the power of capitalism for the greater good of all.

“Odu’a Investments was, and remains, a crucial instrument in this noble pursuit, demonstrating that economic prosperity and social welfare can go hand in hand,” Oyeleye said.

Oyeleye expressed optimism about OICL’s evolution into a global conglomerate, commending the transformative leadership of Ashiru, the immediate past Group Managing Director, Mr Adewale Raji, and the current GMD, Yinusa.

He emphasised that the new office in Lagos, the economic powerhouse of West Africa, serves as a launchpad for greater achievements and a statement of intent that echoes the ambitions of the company’s forebears.

“On behalf of the people of Southwest Nigeria, I pray that this new office serves as a crucible for innovative ideas and bold strategies that will propel us toward our shared goals.

“We place our faith and trust in you, believe in your vision, and stand ready to support you every step of the way.

“Together, let us rekindle the flame of progress that Chief Awolowo lit decades ago and achieve greatness beyond our wildest dreams,” Oyeleye said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the new OICL Lagos liaison office is situated on the 15th floor of Western House, Broad Street, Marina. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
