Groups unveil advocacy against terrorism, nuclear weapons, LGBTQ, climate change
The Fujuju Global Ambassadors Music (FUGAM) Stop Terror, the Global Peace Makers and the Coalition of Civil Society Organisations have unveiled campaign against proliferation of nuclear weapons, terrorism, LGBTQ and climate change.
Unveiling the campaigns at a news conference on Friday at the Lagos State Secretariat of the Centre for Human and Socio-economic Rights (CHSR), the groups called on all world leaders to ensure a world new order.
Addressing the conference, Comrade Adewale Ojo of the Human Rights Advocacy and Monitoring Group (HURAMG) said the coalition was touched by the world’s conflicts threatening to destroy and wipe off human race.
Ojo said that the groups were also out to advocate against same sex marriages as well as the chemical and all environmental pollution causing the global warming and climate change.
The activist said: “”People of good conscience and like minds, believes this advocacy is a worthy cause that needs to be championed to rid our society of avoidable health challenges.
“This global phenomenon of nuclear weapons, climate change/global warming and LGBTQ, which is terrorising the populace and the generality of mankind is the focus, to ultimately protect the sanctity of wellbeing and save humanity which is all-embracing.”
He said that the awareness campaign which would soon hit the streets in major cities would address world issues, including but not limited to LGBTQ (lesbianism, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer).
According to him, the worldwide environmental pollution, nuclear bombs and weapons of mass destruction, same sex marriage, homosexuality, racism and other vices must be addressed by world leaders.
He said that the mass advocacy was in pursuant of Article 26(1)(2), article 27(1)(2) and article 28, all of the basic and fundamental United Nations Declarations of human rights, treaties and conventions signed by all nations of the world, including other international relevant laws.
Speaking, the Convener of FUGAM Global Ambassadors Stop Terror, Mr Olugbenga Adebayo, said that the advocacy and campaign was to stop and put an end to to the worldwide conflicts and erosion of values.
He said: “This is a greatest struggle to save the world and humanity at large from final destruction, prevent and protect the human race from total extinction.
“We are educating the world globally on the potential hazards, risks, effects, danger and gravity of the imminent threats tend to posed by the nuclear bombs accident which also includes plausibility of human extermination.
“This global awareness and campaign encompasses all the components of what FUGAM termed the “World New Order” as against the “New World Order” which permeates the whole world with the disruptive tendencies.”
According to him, indoctrination of same sex marriage/homosexuality spreading through all the spheres and facets of the society, eroding to norms and values of natural creation must stop.
He said that this had generated a lot condemnation and rejection from so many nations of the world
Adebayo applauded President-elect of the United States of America, Mr Donald Trump for his stand on the New World Order, speaking against global warming/climate change, LGBTQ and vowed to impose sanctions and sentence on the open practice and display.
According to him, in the same vein, President Bola Tinubu has recently lent his voice strongly “against such immoral act and practice of LGBTQ as well”, among other world leaders.
“In the quest to save humanity and restore world peace, FUGAM intends to intensify efforts through a subsequent follow up by musical documentary on CD to vigorously campaign for restoration of peace.
“We shall embark on mass rally and walk across the country to demonstrate practically through branded African fabrics, the intense campaign against the negative implications of all the aforementioned global phenomenon.
“It is time to stop fighting one another, it is time to end terrorism and religious killings. We need to condemn all these and save humanity.
“Let us stop the terrorism, and all terror actions. Let us end the Christian and the Muslim old conflict. We must stop the gay and the gay marriages, including homosexuality.
“We must stop the racism, tribalism and ethnicity conflicts for peace to reign worldwide,” he said.
Adebayo, who called for worldwide ceasefire and truce, said ” we totally condemn World War III and dooms day lingering. Enough of massacre of innocents”.
The conference had in attendance leaders of various civil society groups including the National President of CHSR, Comrade Alex Omotehinse.
Others are Comrade Akintunde Adedeji. Access to Advocacy and Rights of the People (ACARP), Comrade Olatunde Owoeye of the Centre for Physically Challenge and Human Rights (CPCHR) among others.
