Football coach urges Nigerians to invest in talents

Coach Olatunji Femi, Convener of Femben PreToPro Football Camp Naija 2024, Coach Femi Olatunji, has urged well meaning Nigerians to invest in children and adults with sports talents.

Olatunji gave the advice while speaking with newsmen at the Femben Football Camp on Saturday in Ibadan.

He said that the talent investment initiative of the camp, would help children with football potential who could not afford sports academy fees.

The coach said that sports investment could be financial support or a player promotion contract.

He added that both financial and contract investments would attract reasonable returns within a short time frame.

Olatunji said that the second edition of the camp recorded a large turnout and improvement compared to the first edition.

He attributed the success of the programme to cooperation of players and support received from parents.

“So far, the players have exhibited willingness to take advantage of every opportunity that will make them football stars in the near future.

“The participants have been equipped with the necessary skills that will make them excel in their respective football academies and clubs.

“We are looking forwatd to the next edition in August, we are expecting new participants and trainees that may want to attend the refresher programme, “he said.

One of the participants, Azeez Ishola, said that participating in the programme for the second time, gave him the opportunity to learn news skills.

Ishola added that the programme also gave him the privilege to relate with ex-professional footballers like Mutiu Adepoju and others.

Kunle Oseni said that the camp exposed him to internationally recognised licenced and experienced coaches.

Monjolaoluwa Are, another participant said that the football camp was impactful and embedded with lectures on dedication, determination and discipline.

He said that the programme had offered participants the opportunity to train with players from other academies, and clubs under the supervision of professionals.
