Coalition endorses Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu in Lagos, pledges 2 million votes
The Coalition of (Registered and De-Registered) Political Parties in Lagos State (COPPILS) on Thursday endorsed the APC Presidential Candidate, Sen. Bola Tinubu and Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the forthcoming general elections.
The Convener, Hon. Akinola Obadia declared the endorsement at the Formal Launching of Eko O Ni Baje 10,000 Foot Soldiers for Tinubu/Shettima and Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat organised by APC stalwarts on Thursday in Lagos.
“Today in Lagos State, we the opposition registered and de- registered Political Parties under the umbrella of Coalition of Political Parties (COPPILS) openly endorse Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President and Kashim Shettima as Vice-President, and for the re-election of Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the Governor, and Dr Obafemi Hamzat as Deputy Governor.
“For us in Coalition of Political Parties in Lagos State, the basis of our choice for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the next President is not far-fetched. Our Choice is based on his track records, which is visible in the public domain for all to see.
“Without mincing words, we have all agreed to go all out to our teeming supporters who are non-APC members and let them know reasons why Tinubu is the best option and why Babajide Sanwo-Olu should be given second term to complete all the laudable projects in Lagos State
“We will make sure that we garner over 2 million non-APC members votes across the state for both the presidential and governorship candidate,” he said.
Obadia said that Tinubu’s brought a lot of development and initiatives into the governance in Lagos State with passionate love for promotion of democracy, good governance as well as human capital and infrastructural development.
He applauded Tinubu’s patriotism in the history of the country and in the advancement of democracy.
He described Tinubu as “the best man for the job to govern Nigeria and take it out of the woods”.
Obadia, who described Sanwo-Olu as hardworking, said that the group was proud of the governor’s THEMES agenda which had brought monumental achievements to the state.
“To mention few of his numerous achievements includes the blue rail line to ease commuters stress and reduce work hours being wasted on the roads.
“The completion and commencement of work at the Biggest Rice Mill in Africa, producing 32 Metric Tonnes per hour, the Deep Blue Sea Port Project among others,” he said.
Obadia listed political parties in the coalition to include AD, UPN, NCMP, UPP, GDPN, APA, NPC, MAJA, ACPN, CPN, AGAP, BNPP, ID PARTY, RPN, PPP, Green Party, PPA, Hope Democrats,DA, NPM, Mega Party among others.
Several APC leaders who took turns to address the crowd included Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat; the Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola and the Speaker Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Mudashiru Obasa.
Others are the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Olorunmbe Mamora, Princess Adejoke Oorelope, former Deputy Governor; Sen. Gbenga Ashafa among other party chieftains and executive council members.
