The Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (NIMechE), Ibadan Chapter, has identified innovative solutions, policies, and stakeholders cooperation as crucial elements in addressing the nation’s energy challenges.
The Chairman of the NIMechE, Ibadan Chapter, Engr. Wole Ayanrinde, MNSE, FNIMechE, highlighted these during the 2024 Annual General Meeting(AGM) and dinner of NIMechE in Ibadan.
Speaking on the theme of the event: “Achieving Energy Sustainability in Nigeria through Innovation in Mechanical Engineering Profession”, the chairman noted that the event event reinforced NIMechE’s Ibadan chapter dedication to promoting excellence, innovation, and sustainability in the mechanical engineering profession, ultimately contributing to the nation’s development and growth.
Ayanrinde emphasized the importance of innovation and sustainability in the mechanical engineering profession, particularly in achieving energy sustainability in Nigeria.
The Guest Speaker at the event, Prof. A.O. Oke, the Former Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ife, shed light on the crucial role mechanical engineers play in driving innovation and achieving energy sustainability in Nigeria.
He reiterated the need for collaboration and ingenuity in addressing the nation’s energy challenges.
The programme also featured the induction of new corporate members, marking an important milestone in their professional journey.
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) provided a platform for members to engage in discussions, review the chapter’s activities, and outline future plans.
