The Landlords and landladies of Ile -Titun Community in Ido Local Government, Ibadan has reiterated the commitment of the community to work with the government in the provision of a secured and sustainable environment for the residents.
The Chairman of Ile-Titun Development Association, Engr. Olasunkami Okunneye, stated this during the official commissioning of a community security gate donated by the leader of the legislative, Ido local government, Hon. Adedeji Adebowale.
Engr. Okunneye urged the chairman of the Ido local government, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo, to support the efforts of the residents of Ile-Titun in the provision of street lights, good road network, drainage and other basic amenities within the community.
He commended the effort of the donor noting that the gesture served as a symbol of effective governance and delivery of the dividends of democracy to the grassroot.
Also speaking, the Divisional Police Officer(DPO), Eleyele Police Station Ibadan, CSP Grace Akinseyinwa, called for an effective synergy between police, community leaders, and local vigilante groups so as to cope with rapid community expansion.
CSP Akinseyinwa while delivering a lecture on the topic: “The Synergy of Community With Law Enforcement Agency for Effective Crime Control” urged Nigerians not to be afraid of giving police useful information for the safety of lives and properties.
In his response, the Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo, assured the residents of the council area of more dividends of democracy.
He noted that approval has been given for installation of solar lights in strategic locations in the council area including offices of various security agencies within the local government area.
He promised that the project and others would soon be extended to Ile -Titun and other communities in the local government.
The chairman noted that the government could not do it alone, he commended the Ile-Titun community for cooperating with the government in the provision of a sustainable environment for the residents.
