@47: PDP leaders, Lagos4Lagos Movement hail Jandor’s humanitarian efforts

The Lagos4Lagos Movement in collaboration with some PDP leaders in Lagos State, on Monday celebrated the party’s 2023 governorship candidate, Dr Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor), on his 47th birthday.

The party leaders and members of the movement poured encomiums on Adediran at a Special Prayer organised to commemorate  his birthday at his Liberty House in Ikeja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that scores of Adediran’s loyalists in PDP and members of Lagos4Lagos Movement gathered at his campaign office in Ikeja to celebrate him.

Adediran is however not in the country.

Sheikh Abudul-fatia Abdul-Gafar, one of the Islamic officiating Islamic clerics, who led series of prayers for Adediran, said that the PDP candidate remained a ‘special gift’ to the state.

Speaking after the prayers, Abdul-Gafar described Adediran as “an icon of leadership when it comes to policies, when it comes to humanitarian service and support to people.”

According to him, though Adediran is outside the country, people and his loyalists deemed it fit to gather and celebrate him because of his huge impact on the masses at the grassroots.

Abdul-Gafar said: “We all gathered here today to celebrate him (Adediran) for what he has been doing for everybody.

“He (Adediran) has been supporting people in terms of education, empowerment and skills acquisition across the whole 57 local governments in Lagos.

“I know him very well, if he gets a position, he will definitely look back to support people more because he has the kind heart to support people.”

Speaking, Alhaji Niyi Adams, the Director of Campaign & Strategy for Adediran’s in 2023 guber election, extolled the celebrant’s courage, consistency and trustworthiness.

“Jandor is someone that has the fear of God. Once he promises something, he tries as much as possible to keep to his promises; and he is fearless.

“So, those are the three attributes that actually bring people closer to him. He has helped a lot to people at the grassroots.

“We strongly believe his dream of becoming Lagos governor will come through,” Adams, a former Lagos State PDP Youth Leader, said.

Another PDP leader loyal to Adediran, Alhaji Samsudeen Arobieke, said that the PDP candidate deserved being celebrated because of his forthrightness and love for the people.

Arobieke, a former Lagos State PDP Treasurer, described Adediran as a good listener, who always seek to alleviate people’s suffering.

Also, Alhaja Idera Shodipo, a PDP chieftain from Ifako-Ijaiye Federal Constituency and former House of Representatives aspirant, described Adediran as “very generous, outspoken and friendly”.

“He is a rugged fighter who stands for peace in the party. He is a leader with determination.

“Adediran is a leader that knows what he wants in life. He is the kind of leader we need in Lagos,” she said.

In his remark, Mr Gbenga Ogunleye, the Spokesperson for Adediran, appreciated the love showered on his principal by the party’s leaders.

Ogunleye said that Adediran’s support for masses had not reduced, not minding the outcome of the governorship election in the state.

According to him, in recent past, Adediran has carried out several humanitarian supports to cushion the effects of the current economic hardship among people.

He recounted that Adediran empowered no fewer than 300 party members with cash gifts, cars, commercial buses and start up capital for small businesses.

“We have supported over 300 party faithful so far with cash support ranging from N50,000 to N250,000. The youths, women and elders of the party are not forgotten in these supports.

“We have procured of vehicles for hailing business (Uber), sett up a block industry, assist the physical challenge with electric wheelchair among others in our humanitarian services,” Ogunleye said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the special prayers was attended by scores of PDP members and leaders as well as members of the Lagos4Lagos Movement.
