NAEME commander commends Combat Service Support Training Week

The Commander, Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (NAEME) Corps, Maj.-Gen. Baba Yahaya has commended the organisation of the Combat Service Support Training Week which held from Aug.19 to Aug.23 in Lagos.

Yahaya in a statement signed by the NAEME spokesperson, Capt. Nuradeen Bello on Saturday said that the training was with the theme: “Repositioning the Combat Service Support Corps to Support the Nigerian Army towards Achieving its Constitutional Responsibilities within a Joint Environment”.

The commander said that the four-day event was conducted in line with the Nigerian Army training activities to meet the aspirations of the Nigerian Army as encapsulated in the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja’s command philosophy.

“The event brought together officers of the Nigerian Armed Forces, security agencies and some key stakeholders within the military industrial complex to brainstorm on ways to meet the objectives of the training week.

“The brainstorming session was conducted with interactive sessions among participants following lectures, plenary and breakout sessions.

“The sessions led to recommendations that would reposition the Combat Service Support Corps to adequately support the Nigerian Army’s drive for operational success under the leadership of the COAS within a joint environment,” he said.

Yahaya said that these recommendations were targeted at improved service delivery covering areas such as utilisation of emerging technologies, capacity building as well as integration to ensure synergy and cooperation in logistics delivery.

“Following the COAS concerted efforts in the provision of resources, the Combat Service Support Corps acknowledge the significant improvements in their capability to support the Nigerian Army.

“The Combat Service Support Corps are immensely grateful to the COAS for his unflinching support and sustained guidance,” Yahaya said.
