Ondo: INEC holds Consultative meeting with CSOs
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ondo State held its maiden consultative meeting with CSOs on March 21.
INEC Ondo Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Mrs Oluwatoyin Babalola in her remarks noted that the meeting will henceforth be held on a quarterly basis in the state for improved partnerships with CSOs.
While appreciating the support, commitments and understanding of CSOs in past elections, she drew their attention to the upcoming Governorship election in the state especially the next activity which is the conduct of political party primaries for the Governorship election between 6th to 27th April 2024.
She therefore urged them to engage with political parties with the aim of observing their primaries in the area of advocacy for inclusion of underrepresented groups for elective offices at all levels.
She assured them that INEC is committed to ensuring eligible Nigerians have the opportunity to exercise their franchise and that the Commission will provide support and guidance for seamless conduct of election.
